What makes a mobile number 'gold' in Australia?

What gold, premium and VIP mobile numbers mean, how to compare visible patterns, and what the listed number price covers.

A gold mobile number is a descriptive name for a memorable mobile number. Sellers may also call these premium, VIP or vanity numbers. The label tells you to look at the digit pattern; it does not describe a separate type of mobile service.

What makes a pattern memorable?

Some numbers repeat one digit, such as a short run of 8s or 9s. Others repeat a pair or use a rhythm that sounds familiar when spoken. A personally meaningful date or combination may appeal even when it has no long run of identical digits.

Read the visible digits in groups and then say them aloud. Consider how you would write them on a business card or vehicle, and whether the grouping remains clear when someone hears it over the phone.

Gold, premium and VIP are descriptive labels

Do not assume that two sellers use the same grading system. Digit Dealer displays its current stock as a Premium collection and shows an individual GST-inclusive price for every listing. We do not use invented Bronze-to-VIP price bands to describe this inventory.

What does the listed price cover?

The price shown is for the number, including GST. A mobile plan and its ongoing charges are separate. The pattern does not improve mobile coverage, call quality or data speeds.

Compare the pattern, budget and transfer steps

Start with repeating digit numbers or four in a row. The third digit stays private in public listings, so X is a mask rather than a digit to guess.

For the practical checklist, read our buyer's guide. Choose a number because it suits your use and budget; the term gold is not a promise of returns or resale value.
